Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, that he may come and rain righteousness upon you.

Hosea 10:12

Assumptions

How Worldviews Shape Values, Behavior, & Culture

Facilitator-friendly with introductory & summary videos by author, Dr. Christian Overman

An individual’s values directly affect behavioral choices, contributing to the tides of culture. Likewise, as historically witnessed, culture dramatically impacts individualistic values and behaviors. Since Creation, this cyclical dynamic has been in process. Most civilizations have collapsed from costly ideologies, while only one has stood the test of time. As biblical educators tasked with discipling hearts and minds, we must continually equip ourselves with scriptural and historical wisdom. We can critically analyze modern societal motivations and manipulations disguised in moralistic jargon by studying past predominant worldviews. By doing so, we are better prepared to shepherd students through the onslaught of cultural aggressions bent on suppressing biblical worldview formation.

Cornerstone

Building the Foundation for Biblical Worldview Instruction

Long has Christian education aimed at influencing educators to interweave biblical tenets throughout subject matter scope and sequence through terminology such as integration. Such descriptors inadvertently suggest a retrofit of biblical tenets into the subject matter, potentially creating unintended confusion in the classrooms of even the most well-intended Christian schools. Without intentional and consistent training, such terms are commonly filtered and implemented through a dualistic mindset. By eliminating any propensity to default to secular/sacred teaching techniques, one must look no further than the modeling and methods of the Greatest Teacher.

For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 3:11

Cornerstone Biblical Worldview Instruction training goes beyond formulaic “incorporation.” It authentically equips Christian educators with a scriptural view of God’s created world, of teaching as a Great Commission calling, and of students’ Kingdom identity and purpose.

Live, on-site or virtual, one-day or multi-day training available starting in August 2023
