An Introduction to Manderley Farms

A Ministry of RenewaNation

By Julianna Mast

In the last few years, many people have become much more intentional about their health and food choices. They want to know where their food is coming from and how it is being raised. I have the privilege of living on a regenerative farm and knowing exactly where my beef and pork come from and what kind of life the animals have lived.

Here at Manderley Farms, we have a biblical approach to agriculture and take pride in the fact that our animals are raised with the utmost care and are allowed to fully express their God-given design. Cows are designed to eat grass, so our goal is to provide them with the highest-quality grass that we can grow. Pigs thrive on rooting around and finding treasures in the woods, so we rotate them through the forest and pastures and supplement them with a non-GMO (genetically modified organism) feed.

As a regenerative farm, we are committed to improving our soil, raising healthy animals, and providing high-quality nutrition to our customers. We rotate our animals daily to give them fresh pasture to graze and help spread out the natural fertilizer they are producing. This allows our pastures to get longer periods of rest, spread more fertilizer in the low-quality fields, and keep the animals happy. Every day, usually at least twice a day, the animals are excited to move to their next paddock.

My husband Andrew and I feel very blessed to raise our three boys, ages six, three, and one, on this beautiful farm. We are able to teach them invaluable lessons every day about life and death and how God created things with intention. Just like God created the animals with specific desires and abilities, He also created us with specific desires, abilities, and responsibilities. We are called to be good stewards of God’s creation and to glorify Him in everything we do. That includes taking care of the land and animals and even doing our school work to the glory of God.

We have recently started hosting events here at the farm in our desire to help others start their regenerative journeys and provide a place for people to experience God’s beautiful creation. We host conferences, one-day pasture walks, a fall festival, and a Christmas event.

If you are local, stop by for some high-quality grass-fed and finished beef and forest-raised pork available for purchase. We would love to be able to serve you with high-quality meat.

Julianna Mast grew up in a pastor's home where she learned that service to the Lord and people is what makes life rich and meaningful. She is currently the mother of three energetic boys, all under the age of 6, and is married to Andrew Mast, Executive Director of RenewaNation’s farm, Manderley Farm. Julianna works alongside her husband to raise hundreds of animals according to God’s good design so that the people who purchase Manderley beef and pork can live long and healthy lives for the glory of God. Julianna is also the oldest daughter of RenewaNation Founder, Jeff Keaton.

Editor’s Note: Manderley Farms and Manderley Christian Camp are generous gifts (1200 acres) from a RenewaNation partner. We are using both to help children and adults develop a biblical worldview.
