Sex Education Minimum Standards K-12 Cross Grain to Christian Values

Children and families across the nation will be impacted by these new sex education standards. The real target is our most vulnerable … our innocent little children in elementary schools.

Sponsored by groups like National Education Association, the new Sex Education Minimum Standards K-12 clearly run cross grain to Christian values.

Parents need to be aware of what these new standards are. The focus is not just to teach sexuality, but to teach a worldview of sexuality which runs cross grain to biblical standards and Christian faith.

These standards, couched in language that is culturally acceptable and tolerant, open opportunity for disastrous ideals to be implanted in our children.

Here are just a few of the things being promoted:

As early as second grade:

  • “demonstrate ways to show respect for different types of families.”

In third – fifth grade:

  • Believe “sexual orientation is the romantic attraction of an individual to someone of the same gender or a different gender.”
  • Define HIV and be able to “identify some age appropriate methods of transmission and ways to prevent transmission.”

By the end of 8th grade:

  • Know how to use a condom.
  • Be able to evaluate the effectiveness of abstinence, condoms and other “safer sex methods” and know how emergency contraception works.
  • “Differentiate between gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation,” and be able to “explain the range of gender roles.”

As Finn Laursen, Executive Director of Christian Educators Association International (CEAI) said so well, “It is clear that the intent is to take captive the hearts and minds of our children before they have formulated their own convictions and moral values with the guidance of parents. These standards go far beyond health education. These personal issues are matters that need to be left to parents and the faith community. Our public schools need to get back to the basics and stop being the conduit for anti-family and anti-faith agendas.”

Parents, please take all necessary action to protect your children from the agenda being driven by those sponsoring these standards. Your children depend on you.
