The other evening as I was meeting with another group of volunteers who had gathered to offer their expertise to RENEWANATION, I heard it again!
The man who said it will soon be reaching retirement. He seemed to be a fairly successful man in most every respect. He owns his own business which seems to be doing very well. He sits on several organizational and community boards. He was obviously respected among the group that night. But his statement had passion in it!
As I listened, I thought of how many times I had heard others make similar statements. I thought of the regret I had heard in voices and the remorse I had often seen on faces. And here it was again!
The statement was made in response to a simple question asked by the person chairing the meeting, “Why have you come tonight?”
The impassioned reply was, “To help fix what my generation broke!”
The man was speaking of the broken systems that RENEWANATION is committed to changing: today’s culture and ethic, the decline of morality and the family, a broadening disregard for human life… and almost everything.
How did we get here?
Simple! We stopped ‘bringing up our children in the way they should go’ and gave them to a system we call “public education”.
For some time now “public education” has not shared the core values of the average American family. For years though, this system has been happy to take our children - and the money it gets with them… to indoctrinate our kids in a worldview that has most of us staggering in horror and disbelief!
But the time has come “to help fix what our generation broke!”
We believe it is time to RENEWANATION.
We intend to do that by going back to the basics of “offering every child a Christian world view.”
